Testimonials

Why Parents Chose Faxon:

I am a child of immigrants from Taiwan, and went to Chinese School only on Saturdays until my first year of highschool. Knowing 1st hand how difficult it is to maintain a second language, we wanted to ensure our son had more exposure, consistency, and support at this young age. Faxon provides this as well as small class sizes to support his growth overall. - J. Chen Morikawa

Principal’s Corner

AFTER SCHOOL PICKUP: The school entrance will remain locked until dismissal at 3:30 p.m. Parents are asked to either wait outside or in cars for the students to come out. If you need to pick your child up from school early, please call the main office to let us know. Unless you have a meeting scheduled with a teacher, please do not go to the classrooms at the end of the day. It interferes with classroom routines and an orderly dismissal.

AFTERNOON DISMISSAL: Parents are expected to pick up their children NO LATER than 3:45 p.m. If you are late, your child will be sent to Latch Key and you are expected to pay the fee. We provide this service so your child is in a safe and caring place until they are picked up. No child will be allowed to wander in the building or outside unsupervised. If you are unwilling to pay for latch key and are chronically late in getting your children, we will have no choice but to take them to the police station for safe keeping.

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT SURVEYS: Please check your child’s school bag for the School Improvement Surveys. The purpose of these surveys is to get parent input and opinion about the school so we can improve and provide the best possible education for your child. The surveys are completely anonymous. There will be a box outside of the main office for you to drop off your survey. We are hoping that every family participates. There is always room for improvement but we need to know which areas to be working on.

HEARING SCREENING: The Oakland County Health Department will be providing a hearing screening at Faxon for students in the following grades: Kindergarten, second, and fourth beginning at 8:30 a.m. on December 2, 2016. Parents of students in other grades can request hearing testing for their children by completing a permission form available in the main office.

SAVE THE DATE: The Winter Concert will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 7:00 p.m. preceded by the annual Family Feast sponsored by the PPU.
